Custom Welder
Currently we are looking for a Custom Welder, based in our Burlington facility. You will be responsible for the welding of large custom machined complex component’s. The ideal candidate will:
- To perform ½” – 1 ¼” multiple pass fillets using a variety of 1/16-3/32 Flux core welding wire.
- Welding of large complex components using different working knowledge of various types of metals, filler metals, welding parameters, preheat, post heat, inter-pass temperature.
- Ability to understand and following welding procedures and specifications.
- Ability to perform manual welding and repairs to UT quality standards and in multiple processes preferred.
- Proficient in back gouging set up and execution.
- Work in a safe manner, complying with all health, safety and environmental guidelines/regulations.
- Working knowledge and experience with overhead cranes, lifting and turning weldments from 10 up to 80 ton.
- Ability to plan out weld sequence on weldment for proper weld wrapping and weld efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5-8 years of welding experience in a custom/job shop environment (heavy plate welding experience an asset)
- Sound knowledge and experience with a variety of welding processes, including GMAW, FCAW.
- ·Ability to read blueprints/engineering drawing an asset.
- Overhead Crane experience.
