Position Summary – Forklift Operator

The Forklift Operator plays a key role in supporting smooth operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for the safe and sanitary handling of ingredients, packaging materials, and finished products using forklifts and other material-handling equipment. Responsibilities include ensuring timely delivery to assembly lines, proper storage in designated or temperature-controlled areas, and assisting with inventory accuracy to maintain high standards of product quality and safety.

Responsibilities:

• Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment, according to established safety and operational guidelines.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries. This includes understanding and following safety regulations, such as OSHA guidelines.
• Load, unload, and transport finished goods and materials within facility. This may involve lifting, stacking, and positioning materials in storage racks or on pallets.
• Perform routine inspections on forklifts and other equipment. Report any malfunctions, defects, or maintenance needs to maintenance personnel or supervisors.
• Handle materials and products with care to prevent damage.
• Ensure that goods are properly handled, stacked, and stored to maintain their quality.
• Work as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues, supervisors, and other staff to achieve operational goals and objectives.
• Conduct weekly line sanitation as scheduled.
• Supply production lines line with all raw materials for production as required.
• Transfer all finished product from the line and put into proper storage area.
• Assist online as needed throughout the shift and other duties as required.

Education/Skills/Experience Required:

• Previous Forklift or Heavy Equipment experience an asset
• Ability to pay attention to detail.
• Demonstrate spirit of teamwork and collaboration with the flexibility to adapt to various tasks.
• Complete tasks as assigned.
