Located in Fergus and a top employer in the region, we are recruiting for 2 experienced INDUSTRIAL ELECTRICIANS.

We are looking for a 442A/309A Electrician who is looking for a challenge, for every day to be different, to become an asset and a respected member of our Maintenance tam.  Do you have have Allen-Bradley PLC experience?  Variable frequency drive experience?  Do you like a mixture of older and modern equipment?

Qualifications:

1.    Industrial Electrician (442A) and/or Construction & Maintenance (309A) Certification

2.    Above average trouble shooting skills

3.    Ability to simultaneously handle several jobs and set priorities

4.    Familiar with and/or willing to learn various computer software systems

5.    Knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC’s (software and hardware)

6.    Knowledge of AC/DC drive systems and the ability to repair/diagnose these systems (Parker drives is an asset)

7.    Ability to repair electrical breakdowns of machines including motors, heaters, instrumentation and control systems

8.    Good safety record, arc flash and lock-out trained

9.    Support and seek opportunities to reduce environmental impacts through waste reductions, recycling and reduction of pollution of air, water, soil and resources.

Duties Include:

·         Repair of emergency breakdown work in a priority set either by the maintenance individual or the supervisor

·         Completion of planned work as directed by the maintenance supervisor

·         Preventative maintenance checks/repairs as directed by the Maintenance Planner

·         Ensure that work completed is recorded in a manner to ensure adequate information available for the maintenance supervisor and co-workers

·         Troubleshoot machine failures utilizing tools such as AB PLC software, scopes, meters, drives software and machine manuals

·         Update the computerized maintenance system by completing work orders and listing parts used

·         Panel building, conduit installation, and industrial machine wiring experience an asset.

We are a unionized environment with a starting rate of $36.98 per hour and you will move to $37.77 per hour after 70 shifts worked (8 hours).

Both positions are 12 hour MWW rotation (8 am – 8 pm and 8 pm – 8 am).  36 hours in week 1 of rotation and 48 hours in week 2 of rotation.  Continental premium (hourly rate x 1.5), paid lunch and volunteer overtime.  Work every 2nd weekend, and every 2nd weekend is a long weekend.
