Permanent, full-time position
If you’re a skilled professional with door/hardware experience in the carpentry trade, the Peel District School Board (PDSB) would welcome your expertise.
As Carpenter, you will provide maintenance services while working out of the North or South Maintenance Shop, to a designated geographical area of schools under the supervision of a Maintenance Supervisor. Your duties will include maintenance/repair on wood/hollow metal doors, frames and hardware, wire-fed MIG welding machines, overhead receiving/shop doors, power-activated operating door hardware and gym/classroom folding partitions, and other related duties as assigned. Your hours of work will be from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
A valid General Carpenter Certificate of Qualification in compliance with The Ministry of Colleges and Universities of Ontario (403A License) and several years’ related door/hardware experience in the carpentry trade will boost your success in this role. As Carpenter, you will also rely on the following experience, knowledge and skills:
· Valid Ontario Driver’s License (Class G)
· Recent driver’s abstract confirming a safe driving record, only upon offer of employment.
· Ability to work on own initiative with a minimum of supervision.
· Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position.
· Working knowledge of computer systems.
· Good communication skills, both oral and written, to work effectively with Board Personnel and outside agencies
ASSETS:
· Proof of Apprenticeship in Ontario or equivalent

Salary: $80,089.00 per annum
