Qualifications

• Inter-provincial or out of Country equivalent certifications will be considered
• Proven experience as a welder
• Valid drivers license in good standing
• Ability to lift or move at least 50lbs/22 kg
• Sound knowledge of welding positions and techniques
• Competent in using potentially dangerous equipment following all safety The ideal candidate will also have a steady hand and great attention to detail.
• Knowledge of different kinds of metal and their properties
• Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures
• Experience in using electrical or hand tools (saws, squares, calipers )
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
• Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing and equipment (face-shield, gloves etc.)
• Team player
• Hand tools and Welder’s helmet
• Proficient in English

Job Description

• Skilled Welder to cut and join metals and other materials at our facility and job sites
• Operate appropriate equipment to put together mechanical structures or parts with a great deal of precision.
• Read and interpret manuals, processes, welding blueprints and specification drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures
• Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
• Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g., cut material with powered saws or torches to match measurements)
• Maintains a proper image both personally and professionally with the company service vehicle
• Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded
• Align components using calipers, rulers and clamp pieces
• Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead)
• Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps
• Inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws and to ensure they meet standards and/or specifications
• Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
• Other duties as assigned

Compensation – salary range provided to reflect the varied experience, qualifications, and skillsets

• Gas and Oil Burner Technicians – 28$/hr to 45$/hr
• Welders -22$/hr-35$/hr

All Technicians receive specialty tools, safety gear, and uniforms

Schedule

• Typical 8-hour day shift – Monday to Friday
• Overtime as required
